Welcome To Plymouth

Plymouth is a lively suburban area located just 15 minutes north-west of downtown Minneapolis in Minnesota. The city is nationally recognized for its “quality of life” and offers great entertainment districts, restaurants, local trails and parks, wonderful recreation programs and MORE.

Plymouth is Minnesota’s 7th largest city, with an approximate population of 81,000 residents. The average home in the area is larger in square footage with a bigger lot, however there are also a handful of condos and townhomes also available! The average sales price for homes over the last 12 months was $462,000. Most often you will find young to middle-aged families and “move-up” buyers in this area.

Boundaries

Plymouth is northwest of Minneapolis and borders New Hope to the east, Medina to the west, Maple Grove to the north, and Wayzata to the south.

Major highways intersect through Plymouth, easily connecting the city to neighboring areas and downtown Minneapolis. Interstates 494 and Highway 55 run through the city and Highway 169 marks the eastern edge of the city limits.

5 Reasons You'll LOVE it:

  1. Incredible natural spaces and parks for all residents (including a few dog parks!)
  2. Tons of shopping and dining areas that range from local owners to larger chain mall shops.
  3.  Active community events to help residents connect and engage in the local area.
  4. Medicine Lake (one of the largest lakes in Hennepin county) provides great walking & biking trails during the summer months.
  5.  Central location with the bulk of entertainment, shopping, and dining all within a 5 mile radius.

5 Reasons You'll hate it:

  1.  One of the more expensive suburbs in the Twin Cities region, making it inaccessible to many potential residents.
  2.  The major highway that connects to downtown Minneapolis is very congested during peak rush hours.
  3.  Decreased sense of community with a larger population, compared to the “small town” feel of smaller suburbs like Robbinsdale
  4.  Limited night-life, must venture into downtown Minneapolis for major event venues & concerts
